It is said that when someone has cancer, their whole family and everyone who loves them does too. Cancer has affected me more than most would like. Both of my parents have had their own battles with cancer and I am happy to say both have survived. Cancer can do many things, however there are so many things that it cannot do:

It cannot cripple love,

It cannot shatter hope,

It cannot corrode faith,

It cannot destroy peace,

It cannot kill a friendship,

It cannot suppress memories,

It cannot silence courage,

It cannot invade the soul,

It cannot steal eternal life,

It cannot conquer the spirit.

The thing I know about battling cancer is that it is so much easier with a great group of supportive friends and family. I am a colleague and friend of Mike’s and I can clearly see all the supportive people he has in his life.

I will be donating this image which was captured over 100 000ft above Earth. It was taken from a space launch I called “Halfway to Heaven” which was also the name of the episode for Mom’s a Medium which aired on CMT in 2015. “Almost There” means a lot to me, and it is starting to mean even more.

Most of the work I do is related to climate change and sustainability, however I see now that my project is helping out a vast diversity of different causes. Lately some of my images have been sold with funds going towards the Jacobs wish foundation and the Stollery Children’s Hospital. After offering this image to Mike I have also decided that I will be giving the entire run of this image to the Cross Cancer foundation. We are so fortunate to have these incredible facilities in our own back yard. I am honored that my images can help out such great causes.

If you are able to attend the silent auction for Kick Cancer For Kamby Fundraiser, please go home with an item. Usually my images are sold for $500 online, so if you can get it for a couple of hundred dollars you are getting a great deal, and if it goes for more, it is going to a great cause. Thanks
